Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105
Your word... the things that speak to me from Your mouth. They are the things that you think. They represent where Your heart is and how You love the things that capture Your thoughts. Your words, like ours can sting, inspire and convict. Your words are the material that weaves my future.
You suggest that I frame my day with Your thoughts circling in my head. In fact, in so many words you told me that I think too much. You told me to “calculate your words and thoughts and their existence.” I asked you to confirm this Word and you followed it up with Scripture. Isaiah 40:12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? The one who measures and weighs, is asking me to measure and weigh. Not only that, He asks me to realize that they do not need to all exist.. When my mind is wandering, I need to take every thought captive (2 Cor. 10:5) and to limit the wandering, just like I control the tongue (James 3:1-12). With this instruction on my mind each day, I make it my intent to notice more and comment less.
Your thoughts are clearer and more uplifting than mine. Mine drag me to fears and inconsequential bunny trails. But when I focus on Yours, the day's events cannot worry me as your strength becomes the light filled measure to overcome anything.
