You know that voice who comes in and tells you you can't do what you had set out to do? You know the one, the one that has the gift of discouragement. I'm learning to tell that voice to take a hike.
So last weekend I decided that I was going to make the black bean burgers that I had been designing in my head for a few weeks. As I set out to make them, "THE VOICE" said, Who do you think you are? You're not a chef, you didn't go to culinary school, you've never designed a recipe. So instead of logging my ingredients and precise measurements, I threw them into a bowl and mixed it quickly.
I made the burgers and served them for dinner never telling my hubby the psychological war going through my head. But boy did I glow when he said they were delicious. A foodie friend at work told me they were so yummy and tasted just like regular burgers.
So I decided that I was going to make them this second weekend in a row, write down the recipe and tell the voice to take a hike. I have practiced for years to make good vegetarian dishes, I have mad cooking skills and I can design a recipe. Black bean burgers are just the start, watch out world! Get recipe here.
