Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 3:1 KJV
So beautiful: "what manner of love"...God calls us to recognize this love and see it.
Just seeing God's love as God's gift As we do.. we get renamed as His children. Oh what a great plan! As we say "look at God's love and all it has done for me" we are acknowledging... our adoption.
We are now part of God's family
We are seeing His love. We are seeing our new parentage. We are following a new bloodline. Whoever is crucified in Christ... Will truly live.
A new birth
When our hearts are emptied of the distractions of what they once held, and filled instead with the new heart reshaping love of Christ, we are born again with a new breath of lung filling air. Almost like a swimmer who bursts through the surface and grabs that fresh air. Our heart capacity and lung capacity is forever changed.
Our body is changed
Our heart now beats for our Savior's time. Our lungs have gained new chest space where once our heart was full of a myriad of loves... giving us more region to take that first lung filling breath.
Hearts Forever Changed
But a change occurs to our world. Our countenance, our being is unfamiliar to our once dear associates in the world. Our heart beats for different things. It is now not concerned about drink, clothing, fashion, addictions, gambling, sex, gaming, and other distractions.
The world is not able to recognize this change. The world is blind to the cause. It doesn't see God so it does not see us who are changed by our new lineage.
But our changed hearts are all the comfort that we need. Our distractions seem pointless. Our habits mean little. God's fresh perspective and new found energy for meaningful living is just what we needed and so much more than we can ever imagine!
