Walk in valley

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Psalms 23:4 NLT

The "dark valley" does not seem welcoming at all. But with the assistance of our God and King...it is the best place to be!

I am so glad for the comfort of our Savior. I am so grateful that my walk through the valley is one that will end with the Savior lifting me from despair. He places me firmly on the high places.

And when I say walk,...I often feel as if I have been lifted from my feet. God side-carries me as I have no strength for the battle ahead. I am not able to stand independently. I even have difficulty fixing my eyes on the horizon.

But what happens next as I remain in His arms.. My strength returns. I can pick my head up. My arms gain their own leverage and I do not need to clutch helplessly. I begin to test my own balance. I place my feet under me and gingerly lean on them. God steadies me but knows immediately the amount of support needed.

It is the letting go that I need...to try my faith. I am restored. This letting go proves it. My protector watches close by. But He does not hover. He has prepared me for the next battle. I am able to climb from the valley walls. I am able to see where He sends me next.

The challenge is to ask Him to help. He helps those who ask!
