Rejoice even though

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

Habakkuk 3:17‭-‬18 NLT

I will want the riches that surround me. I feel I have prepared for everything. What makes the day bleak is my view of these failed preparations. Instead, I will find what God does for me in each day.

God gives us just what we need but not the excess we long for. He prepares us for times of lacking. He shows us we are His redeemed.

God prepares us for the battle with just a slingshot, wants us to leave for the desert and the promiseland with little in our pockets, says go before the King with just a prediction "you were created for such a time as this."

God gives us the "go" sign, and makes our feet too heavy for turning back. God knows where we falter, sending hope and signs of encouragement everywhere we turn.

When we look back, we see a clearly designed path that led to this moment.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.

Habakkuk 3:19 NLT

He sees us as His creation with certain needs. He steadies us for the battle that rages ahead. God knows where our hurts lie. God knows how to right us. He places us on high ground and gives us great balance to face the day.
