Look down, not up

Updated: Mar 3, 2020

Did you know that the Lord has planted little signs for you to find, little bits of encouragement, but sometimes it takes changing your perspective? We are always told to look up, it's where our hope comes from, but let me present a case for keeping your head down.

Case Study 1 I was going through a rough time, this season in my life lasted a lllloooonnnnnggg time. I would walk multiple times a day, praying and pleading with the Lord. Very often, a coin would catch my eye and I would consider it was a sign that God was providing for me. We've all heard that a penny is a sign from a loved one that has gone before us. Recently, I heard that the coin was a visual reminder that "in God we trust." How amazing this new revelation was to me that now I repeat "in God we trust" each time I pick up a coin.

Case Study 2

One day I was praying for one person in particular. I walked my normal path and saw something on the ground that looked like a coin but I knew it wasn't so I kept walking. The next time I walked that day, I heard a small voice say, "Pick it up." On this button were the initials of the person I was praying for. God was telling me, "I have him in my hands, don't you worry."

Case Study 3

A few years ago, one of our pastors said the words "His Perfect Strength" in a sermon. Those words resonated with me all week. I kept praying that God would give me His Perfect Strength. That very week, while walking during a break, right in the middle of the road I found this tag that read perfect strength. It ministered to me in such a deep way. My Father was telling me, "I heard your prayer, I am giving my perfect strength to you, daughter." He is gracious and poured out His Perfect Peace, too.

Did I make my case? I hope so. What treasures the Lord has for you... keep your head down.
