Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Colossians 3:1 NLT
Raising me in the spirit of new life… That phrase has such great implication. As if I am lifted up.. And placed softly in the clouds. Which in a very real way, I am. God has so much imagination to place in the words a real action. A real thought about the direction His salvation takes us.
In fact, He asks us to “set your sights on the realities of heaven.” This request is so encouraging. Because in every sense, the directive is simple. Training your eyes and mind in the direction of heaven.. Well, that is not a difficult command. It is not a “climb Mount Everest and build a snowy altar and sacrifice your first born” kinda command.
But it gives hope that if our minds are cleared for His work and His thoughts, God will make the path straight.
God will make our hearts line up with His so that we are abundantly blessed and abundantly calmed for battle ahead. And our reward is great… joining Christ who sits at God’s right hand in an indefinable meticulous, beautiful and perfect realm.
