His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!'
Mom told me recently, "I have never felt closer to God." When I asked her what changed so that she felt that way, she replied, "I stopped running." She had a ton of faith and preferred to be expressing her love for Christ in church every Sunday, but she clearly felt distant from God and Jesus to say that she had been running.
Mom not only finished strong, she started well. She dragged all 8 children to church every Sunday, watching her in church I knew that she was solid in her faith. Her prayerful stance every week not to mention the way she spoke her prayers under her breath and often had tears running down her face, was something I stored in my heart.
Many children beyond her own watched and heard of her faith. My son reflected recently on his first memory of her when he was only two. She marched with him around the living room while they chanted, "Onward Christian Soldiers." As she helped in watching her grandchildren, no doubt they sang songs like this often.
I know with her ability to love and her ability to reach out to people where ever she went, she impacted many for the kingdom. Her work here was done. Well Done, Mom, I'm so proud of you!
