Chai Green Smoothie

Isn’t it great when friends get together over a hot drink and share recipes? A new friend of mine met me at Starbucks for a jog and a chat. We were just getting to know each other. We started from there and completed a 3 mile jog through my favorite park. It happened to start raining and by the end, it was pouring down rain. We sat down with a hot mug and while dripping on the floor, talked about our favorite things... and we had many in common. Chai! And coffee! She shared with me this amazing recipe (and chocolate covered cherry smoothie, but that’s a recipe for another day) which I tweaked a bit. Need an extra boost, add espresso.


1 1/2 cup almond or your favorite milk 1 1/2 cup spinach

3 tbsp your favorite chai tea latte drink mix (mine is pictured here, let Caroline know if you want more information on this drink mix)

1 tbsp flax seed, ground

2 tsp Chai Seasoning Mix

2 large dates, pitted

1 large frozen banana

1/2 cup ice cubes

Chai Seasoning Mix:

1/8 tsp Ginger, ground

1/8 tsp Cardamom, ground

1/8 tsp Anise Seed, ground

1/4 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 tsp Nutmeg

1/8 tsp Cloves, ground

1/4 tsp White or Black Pepper, fresh ground

Blend all in blender, enjoy!

Dirty Chai Green Smoothie...

Add 2 shots espresso
